Post Office to accept foreign coins for Help the Hospices

Howard Lake | 10 September 2007 | News

From today, foreign exchange customers at 600 Post Office® branches across the UK will be invited to donate their unused foreign coins to Help the Hospices, the national charity for the UK hospice movement. Special collection boxes for unused coins will be available on the counter of the selected branches.

The collection is the latest initiative in the charity’s three-year partnership with Royal Mail Group, which has raised over £1.2 million since it began in March 2005.

Post Office head of travel services John Howells said: “Post Office branches have previously raised an astounding £40,000 a year for charity through foreign coin collections. We are proud that so many of our people have got involved in our partnership with Help the Hospices.”
