2007 International ePhilanthropy Awards open for nominations

This year’s International ePhilanthropy Awards, run by the ePhilanthropy Foundation, are now open for nominations. Eligible organisations can nominate nominate themselves online.
The awards, open to nominees from around the world, aim to “encourage and support best practices and the pursuit of excellence in the many facets of ePhilanthropy.” The ePhilanthropy Foundation itself works to
“support the ethical and efficient use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes through education and advocacy.”
The awards programme is open to anyone engaged in the use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes. Nominees can be individuals, organisations, and companies working in the ePhilanthropy field. They should have have “demonstrated extraordinary talent, creativity, and insight in drawing the public’s attention to the important use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes and have created services or strategies that support this effort.”

This year’s awards feature a new category: Best Senior Friendly Website Design and/or Online Campaign. This award will recognise the organisation that has “devoted time, energy and exceptional effort to tailor their online presence to suit the specific needs of seniors [older people] using the Internet.”
Award winners receive cash prize of $500 to the charity of their choice and a distinctive glass sculpture award designed by artist Edward Kachurik.
Nominations must be made by 1 July 2007.
The winners will be announced on 20 September 2007.
