Richard Radcliffe, Fellow and Chair of Fellows, noted that this recognition is particularly important now, given the dramatic change and scrutiny facing the sector, emphasising the sustained impact these leaders have made since the IoF’s formation over thirty years ago.

New Fellows’ contributions

John Brady

John is Director of Fundraising at St Andrew’s Hospice and former Chair of IoF Scotland.

He has contributed significantly to the Scottish fundraising community, championing high standards and best practice. His work includes being on the Scottish Charity Regulator reference group for best practice guidance and forging links between the IoF and the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) in Scotland.

As Chair of IoF Scotland from 2010 to 2017, he was an effective ambassador for professional standards and helped steer discussions regarding the impact of Scottish independence on charities.

Di Flatt

Di is Chief Executive of Sweetpea Charity and Chair of IoF Yorkshire. With over eighteen years in the sector, she has chaired IoF Yorkshire since 2011, developing its annual conference into one of the country’s best.

She has represented the “outside of London” fundraising community as Chair of Chairs of the regions, striving to bring the quality of London IoF events to regional members.

She is a strong advocate for training the next generation of fundraisers and helped shape the IoF’s strategy during her three years on the IoF Board.

Ruth Ruderham

Ruth is Director of Fundraising at Princes Trust International. She has been a fundraising pioneer for a decade and a half, generously sharing her experience as a speaker and masterclass leader globally.

She plays an active governance role, serving on the Boards of Oxfam GB (with specific fundraising responsibility) and the Galapagos Conservation Trust, where she coaches the small team.

Already recognised as Professional Fundraiser of the Year, Ruth recently contributed to the IoF’s Future of Fundraising Regulation series and the upcoming Fundraising for Trustees Handbook.

John Williams

John is the former Director of Development at the Masonic Charitable Foundation and Treasurer of IoF West Midlands. He has worked in the charity sector for over 26 years until his retirement in March 2013. He was one of the first to develop and install donor databases in regional and local charities in the early 1990s.

A member of the IoF (and its predecessor, ICFM) for 23 years, he has served as Chair and Treasurer of the West Midlands region for over 20 years, managing three years of effective member engagement and providing bursaries to encourage new fundraisers.
