Our Lasting Tribute (OLT) has launched its new web platform for creating and managing tribute funds.
The new platform – which was previewed at UK Fundraising’s Perfect Pitch last month – has taken almost two years to develop and now allows donors to set up tribute funds, write their own copy for pages, post picture into a gallery and write a journal. Visitors to the tribute site can write messages in the visitors book and make donations.
It help donors with their memories and also acts as a powerful fundraising tool to help their chosen charity by raising funds in memory of a loved one. Tribute funds can also be supplemented by sub-funds for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries.
Managing director of OLT Kevin Kibble said: “This is a major step forward in tribute giving and puts the donor at the heart of the programme.” He added that the platform has been designed to be accessible to most sizes of organisation. “It is a low-cost, easily-administered method of introducing the enormous potential of tribute fundraising.”
The new platform has been running as a live test with Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Director of fundraising Chris Askew said: “The platform is already benefiting our supporters and one Crocus Fund holder who is organising a sponsored event finds it hugely motivating that participants of the event can support the tribute with funds of their own.”
