Trust funding package competition for London-based charities

Real World Fundraising is offering its London Trust Core Funding Package, which normally costs £2,000, as the prize in a competition for London-based charities.

The package consists of an appeal to small personal and family trusts, based in or with an interest in the London region. Real World Fundraising’s Caroline Hamilton says that the majority of these trusts, many of them set up as giving vehicles for an individual or family, “are not listed in the published directories”.

In addition the package includes copywriting, printing, envelope stuffing and
postage. The charity need only provide its letterhead and general leaflet, and Freepost envelopes if it has them.

She added: “Our London Trust Core Funding Package is ideal for charities based in the capital wanting to increase their core-funding, but with limited staff time available.”

The package is presented as “a no risk fundraising opportunity”. Hamilton has pledged that “in the highly unlikely event that income from the appeal does not exceed the fee charged, the full fee will be returned to the charity.”

To win the package entrants need to complete an application form which includes the chance to explain in up to 100 words how the appeal would help their charity.

Completed applications should be received by 9 November 2007.
