Star Wars director George Lucas is for the first time allowing a gadget from the films to be sold at a charity auction of movie memorabilia.

Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn’s lightsabre, used by actor Liam Neeson in The Phantom Menace, will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York on 6th March to raise funds for HIV prevention in Africa.
