A Roy Keane Manchester United jersey has been sold at a charity auction in Cork for €4,000.

The former Irish skipper has donated one of his last Man United shirts to the church he was baptized in to help generate funds for renovations to the building.

As the hammer came down on the jersey, Keano’s parish priest Fr Robert Young thanked him for his support.

Keane has been involved in a number of events for the Irish Guidedogs for the Blind and a number of local charities.
