Sainsbury’s Active Kids back for 2017

Melanie May | 2 February 2017 | News

Sainsbury’s Active Kids campaign is back with vouchers available in-store until 2nd May.
The annual campaign to get children eating, moving, and living well has seen the supermarket donate over £170m worth of equipment and experiences to schools and clubs since 2005. Active Kids is open to schools, nurseries, Scout and Girlguiding groups, and Clubmark accredited sports clubs (and certain equivalent clubs).
Shoppers receive one voucher for every £5 they spend in local store, and for every £10 spent in a supermarket, or online. Vouchers can then be handed in to a participating school or club, which can redeem them for active or cooking equipment, or experiences from the Active Kids catalogue.

This year, new items include a veg garden grobox, a mini greenhouse, Walking Bus Hi-Vis vests, tents, and mountain shelters. Sainsbury’s is also reintroducing the banking of vouchers for 2017, meaning that any that aren’t used can be carried over to 2018.
Downloadable toolkits and active packs are available from the website as usual for each type of participating organisation from the Active Kids site, and this year’s Active Kids ambassadors are swimmer Ellie Simmonds, footballers Daniel Sturridge and Lucy Bronze, and sprinter Jonnie Peacock.
