Children's Hospice South West's appeal nominated for PR award

Children’s Hospice South West’s Babe’s Big Appeal campaign has been shortlisted in the Best Charity or Non-Profit Campaign and Best Integrated PR Campaign categories of The Institute of Public Relations’ (IPR) regional
Pride Awards, which takes place in February 2005.

Babe’s Big Appeal was launched in May 2004 to raise £15 million to build, equip and endow with initial running costs a second children’s hospice for the South West. Children’s Hospice South West currently runs the only children’s hospice in the region and the new facility will mean it can instantly double its provision and offer more choice to families, so that they can remain close to home or take a complete break away from the area in which they live.

The campaign was named Babe’s Big Appeal after children’s author Dick King-Smith kindly agreed to lend his much-loved character ‘Babe’ from his acclaimed novel ‘The Sheep Pig’ and has already raised over £6 million.
