Free IT and Internet seminar on 11 October

The next free IT and Internet seminar for voluntary and community organisations will be held on October 11 2004 in London, and will feature IT resource hub CITRA, trends in charities’ use of the Internet, and key future technologies for the sector.
The meeting will begin with William Hoyle, new CEO of Charity Technology Trust, introducing CITRA, a new IT resource for charities. CITRA is an alliance of a number of sector bodies who are launching a new Web site with a range of resources, ideas and information. William will outline how it will help charities and how they can get involved.
Joe Saxton of research unit nfpSynergy will then speak on the Virtual Promise research project. He will explain charities’ use of the Internet has changed over the
last four years.

The final speaker will be John Tate of Tate Technology who will address ‘The top technologies for the next decade for the not for profit sector.’
The seminar will start at 3.30pm with teas, coffees “and some really tasty
cakes and biscuits” and finish around 6pm.
The Forum is an opportunity both to network as well as listen to the individual speakers.
The event takes place in the Gallery at 70-77 Cowcross St (through the arch
opposite the bright yellow Snappy Snaps) near Farringdon tube.
There is no charge to attend the seminar. At the end of the three talks there will be
an opportunity for an open discussion that anybody wants to talk about.
