St Giles Hospice Rudolph Run

Fundraisers are being invited to spread a little Christmas cheer and kick off their festive fun as the St Giles Hospice Rudolph Run returns to Tamworth Castle next month (December). Runners, walkers, teams of friends and families – and their four-legged friends – will be able to take part in the popular festive fundraising event either in Tamworth Castle Grounds on Sunday, 5 December, or in their own local area.

The annual Rudolph Run was cancelled last year because of the pandemic, with supporters taking part in their local area instead. With Rudolph Run Your Way proving popular it is being offered as an option this year as well.

Barnardo’s Race Santa

Runners and walkers are invited to join forces to Race Santa ‘around the world’ and raise money for Barnardo’s this December. Each participant needs to complete 24 miles or more in 24 days to help the charity reach its target distance of 24,901 miles – the circumference of the globe.

Race Santa kicks off on 1 December. Everyone who takes on the Race Santa challenge will be encouraged to ask for people to sponsor them, and to share pictures and updates with their supporters along the way with the hashtag #RaceSanta.  Every penny raised will go towards Barnardo’s Kidsmas appeal, which is now in its third year.

Shelter One Voice Carol Concert

Shelter is hosting a star-studded virtual carol concert on Wednesday 8 December. Starting at 7pm, it will be streamed via Shelter’s website and Youtube channel, and filmed at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church. Its second annual virtual carol concert, this year’s service will be hosted by Danni Menzies. She will be joined by celebrities including Edith Bowman, Matt Allwright, Vick Hope and Nikki Amuka-Bird throughout the evening.

Six songs will be sung by St Martin-in-the-Fields’ choral scholars, including festive favourites such as Ding Dong Merrily on High. The concert will be free to stream and donations will support Shelter’s frontline services and campaigning work to fight the impact of the housing emergency.

Royal Brompton & Harefields Hospitals Charity’s virtual Santa Dash

Royal Brompton & Harefields Hospitals Charity is holding its first virtual Santa Dash this year. Taking place from the 4-5 December. The charity is raising funds for its Road to Recovery: Post Covid Mental Health Programme, which will provide the psychological support that Covid-19 patients need. People can do any distance, any way they please.

NSPCC Merry Little Christmas concert

NSPCC is holding its Merry Little Christmas concert on 9 December, with traditional carols, children’s choirs and celebrity readers and raising money for Childline. People can join either in-person at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square or online, with people able to choose between the two for the first time. Online tickets are £20, and in-person adult tickets are £40.

Jingle Jam

Games charity event Jingle Jam is back again this December. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Jingle Jam runs from 1-14 December. Streamers across the globe will raise funds for fourteen charitable projects via Tiltify, both in the UK and internationally – while sharing the Jingle Jam games bundle.  Last year’s Jingle Jam raised almost a million in its first two days.
