With Pin Gin creating its second collaborative gin with St Barnabas Hospice, and Alf Turner sending one of its Dragon Eggs into the stratosphere to raise funds and awareness for Help for Heroes, here’s a range of the products fundraising for charities this summer.

Brixton Brewery Generation Pale Ale

Brixton Brewery has crafted Generation Pale Ale in celebration of people being able to get together again. All proceeds from the brew will be donated to AgeUK Lambeth, with the launch supported by Jackie Weaver.

AVI-8 Watches Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Royal British Legion timepieces

AVI-8 Watches has become an official partner of the Royal British Legion in its centenary year, launching a limited edition timepiece in support of the charity. Limited to 500 pieces, each of the Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Royal British Legion timepieces sold will help raise funds for the charity and support the work it does for those who have served in the British Armed Forces and their families.

Mirroring the Spitfire’s gauges and readouts, the Type 300’s indices, hands and layout form the primary blueprint of the dial. Completing the dial at the 6 O’clock position is the Royal British Legion’s trademarked two petal poppy, which is also visible on the crown of the watch. The watch is available from AVI-8.co.uk for £295.

Collectable Pudsey Bears

Louis Kennedy and BBC Children in Need have unveiled new collectable Pudsey Bears in celebration of Children In Need’s 40th Anniversary Appeal. Each one will have its own personalised numbered passport.

Flowercard bumblebee collection

A bumblebee collection launching in July from online floral gift specialist Flowercard is benefitting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust with 50% of profits from the range from the month of August being donated to the charity.

Paul Popham Fund charity calendar

Swansea-based kidney charity, the Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales, is calling for entries for its first ever photographic charity calendar, which it is launching in memory of one of the charity’s volunteer peer mentors, Brian Hill who passed away last year.

The theme for the calendar – chosen by Brian’s family – is ‘happiness’, and all of the money raised from sales will go towards supporting other patients with kidney disease, through the Paul Popham peer support service.

The competition is open to everyone, with a closing date of 31 July, and all 12 winners will receive a framed copy of their winning entry, with one overall winner taking the cover slot on the calendar and receiving a personal photoshoot with professional photographer, Lucy Parker, to the value of £300.

Pin Gin Est. 1982 Flora gin

St Barnabas Hospice is partnering with Lincolnshire-based brand Pin Gin for a second time to raise funds with the launch of its second collaborative gin, ‘Est. 1982 Flora.’ Following the success of last year’s ‘Est. 1982 Bramble’, which also raised money for the hospice, Bottomley Distillers (home of award winning brand Pin Gin), a distillery based in Louth, Lincolnshire, has created a limited edition London dry gin with floral notes of pomegranate blossom and earthy tones from fresh lavender.

Last year’s partnership raised over £6,500 and over £14 from every sale of the new gin will be donated to the hospice.

Alf Turner Dragon Eggs

Food brand Alf Turner, a company invested in by Dragon’s Den’s Peter Jones, has launched one of its Scotch eggs into space, or at least into the stratosphere to a height of 79,085 feet above the Earth to raise awareness and funds for Help for Heroes.

Alf Turner makes a donation to Help for Heroes for every Scotch egg – or Dragon Eggs – they sell. The Alf Turner Dragon Egg is available nationally in selected Waitrose, SPAR and ONE STOP stores. To date the Alf Turner brand has raised over £220,000 to support the charity.

delilah Colour Gloss Lip Gloss

delilah is teaming up with Look Good Feel Better for the month of June. delilah will be donating 10% of all sales of Colour Gloss Lip Gloss to the campaign, which encourages self-confidence and a positive mindset for cancer patients.

New social enterprise ChooseWell has launched its range of hand wash products that are made with 95% natural ingredients and are all dermatologically approved, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. Made in the UK, ChooseWell’s range of hand washes is available in four different fragrances – almond & vanilla, botanical orange, cedarwood & sage and rose geranium.  All are SLS and paraben-free, and enriched with certified organic aloe vera. 

Customers choose their charity of choice at the time of purchase on the ChooseWell website. Projects either help to provide clean safe drinking water for school children in developing countries, support tree-planting initiatives that help counteract the global effects of climate change, or tackle homelessness in the UK.
