GiveSmart has announced the merger of its UK and European event delivery service with Givergy.
The companies will now work under the Givergy brand name to raise funds for charities. Together, in the past 12 months Givergy and GiveSmart have already supported more 1,500 events and online auctions, raising over £25 million for UK charities.
In the short term, all current GiveSmart clients will have the option to use the Givergy technology for upcoming events or to remain with the GiveSmart system. In the longer term however Givesmart will be merged into Givergy.
The merger follows Givergy’s acquisition of Lumi’s fundraising arm this time last year, and is another step in its international expansion plans. The merger is expected to help strengthen its position in the UK and Europe. Givergy also has offices in the US, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong.
Max Romer, GiveSmart UK managing director, said:
“Both GiveSmart and Givergy have been focused on generating more funds for charities and organisations for many years. This merger takes the best from both growing businesses and opens opportunities for significant efficiencies – passing the savings on to the charities themselves. This is a very logical step forward for GiveSmart UK and Givergy, and I am excited to see how the combined efforts result in a household name for fundraising events across the UK and Europe.”
