10 great corporate fundraising partnerships for October 2016
Here are ten of the corporate fundraising partnerships that have caught our eye over the past few weeks, with activities ranging from bake sales, car races and gala dinners to educational initiatives and donations from product sales.
1) TransPerfect Legal Solutions and Save the Children
TransPerfect Legal Solutions has announced that an event that it is the key sponsor of has raised £400,000 for Save the Children. The International Arbitration Charity Ball saw over 700 guests attend London’s Guildhall on September 8 with guests taking part in a live auction, and making donations throughout the night to Save the Children’s Emergency Fund. This is the fourth year TransPerfect has sponsored the event.
2) Livingston Designer Outlet and Barnardo’s Scotland
Customers at Livingston Designer Outlet have raised £11,000 so far this year for Scottish charity, Barnardo’s Scotland. Recently, it raised £5,000 towards this total with donations through the Outlet’s water feature, which will go towards supporting children with disabilities aged between 5-17 in West Lothian. The Outlet launched its partnership with the charity late last year.

3) Waitrose and Breast Cancer Haven
Waitrose has launched a limited edition jute bag, designed by Savannah Miller and Lucy Eldridge, and is donating 10% of each sale to Breast Cancer Haven. The £5 bags are being sold during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, with 50p from each one going to the charity.
4) Wigtown Book Festival and Fight for Sight
Wigtown Book Festival chose Fight for Sight as its charity partner for the fifth year running. The festival tool place from 23th September–2nd October, and raised funds for the charity with a charity stand and Feast your Eyes activity promoting the charity’s annual October event, which encourages the public to challenge their senses and host a dinner in the dark.

5) The FA and The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK
The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK has been selected as The FA’s official charity partner, with the partnership to run from 2016 until 2018. The link-up also coincides with the England Footballer’s Foundation (EFF) nomination of the Bobby Moore Fund as its Anniversary Partner for 2016-17 and forms a key part of The EFF’s 10th year celebrations in 2017.
6) SPAR UK and Sands
SPAR UK has given an £8,000 to UK stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands. The donation was raised from SPAR’s Oscar Winners Gala Dinner held on the penultimate night of the SPAR Convention 2016 in San Diego, which saw a total of £23,000 raised by retailers and suppliers who attended for three different charities – Sands, the NSPCC and Cancer Fund for Children.

7) Specsavers and RNIB
RNIB and Specsavers’ have partnered to launch the Transforming Eye Health awareness campaign. As part of the £3m multimedia campaign Specsavers stores nationwide will be joining forces to fundraise starting with £1 eye test donations for the month of September. There will also be a number of fundraising events at Specsavers stores including bake sales, and physical challenges.
8) Aramark and City Year UK
International food service company Aramark teamed up with City Year UK in September as part of its Building Community Day to help pupils William Ellis School in Camden take part in a worldwide initiative designed to inspire and educate children about healthy lifestyles. More than 30 volunteers, from Aramark and City Year London, led sessions with the children to educate them on the importance of exercise and nutrition. Since 2008, more than 30,000 Aramark employees have volunteered time and expertise to help more than 4m people in over 50 cities.

9) Scumrun and Together for Short Lives
Banger driving rally event Scumrun has chosen Together for Short Lives to be the benefitting charity for its 2017 event. The annual four-day Scumrun car rally sees teams, in creatively modified vehicles and fancy dress, travel hundreds of miles across stunning European roads, with the aim of raising thousands of pounds for the charity. The money raised by Scumrun teams will go towards supporting children’s hospice.
10) Jupiter Hotels and Breast Cancer Care
Jupiter Hotels has announced that it has raised £150,000 to date for Breast Cancer Care with further funds being raised during October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Charity events have been held across all 26 of its hotels, and activity for the charity’s The Big Pink fundraising event, which takes place this month, includes the Big Pink Bake Off with hotel staff and hotels’ local communities invited to take part in a competition to bake a locally inspired cake and donate £5 per entry.
