Melanie May | 28 September 2016 | News

GlobalGiving is offering three weeks of free online training on crowdfunding, with a deadline for applications of 5th October.
The Gateway to Crowdfunding course will cover all aspects of crowdfunding, from telling the story in an online friendly format, to mapping networks of who can help, support and donate, to what creative strategies and ideas can be used to get attention online and offline.
The course is mainly aimed at small to medium sized charities and social enterprises, and any can apply, regardless of where they are registered, or the field they work in.
The course offers online webinars and 1-2-1s with GlobalGiving staff, which will help participating charities develop strong campaign strategies and content. Participants will then be challenged to put these strategies into place by participating in the Gateway Crowdfunding Challenge and, between November 14th and December 19th working to raise a minimum of £2,500 from 50 donors to help fund their projects.
Following this, participants will become permanent members of GlobalGiving’s crowdfunding platform, which will provide access to a range of benefits, as well as corporate and philanthropic grants. They will also become eligible to take part in match funding campaigns and bonus days, where funds are matched either 50% or 100%.
In addition to these financial benefits, they will also be able to access skilled volunteers from GlobalGiving’s corporate partners, take part in a mentoring scheme and participate in monthly learning webinars on different organisational aspects, from fundraising to communications, to ICT and security.
More information and how to apply is available at: www.globalgiving.co.uk/join.
