Phil Spencer promotes Woolly Hat Day 2016 for homeless people

Howard Lake | 21 November 2015 | News

TV presenter and property expert Phil Spencer is supporting St Mungo’s Broadway by promoting the homeless people’s charity’s Woolly Hat Day 2016.
The event, now in its sixth year, involves thousands of people wearing beanies, baseball caps, berets and many other forms of headgear to help St Mungo’s Broadway raise money for its work supporting homeless men and women.
Spencer is a patron of the charity. He said:

“I’ll be joining a big group of generous celebrities on Woolly Hat Day and taking my hat off to help homeless people get ahead. We are hoping to raise £60,000 this year, so I’m urging everyone to head to woollyhatday.org to take part. “The cold winter weather really brings into focus the importance of helping people without a roof over their head at night. I’m supporting St Mungo’s Broadway because I believe that homeless people should have a place to call home and be able to fulfil their hopes and ambitions.”

“It is a fun and friendly way to support our charity – there’s no running, hiking, swimming, trekking or jumping out of aircraft involved – we simply invite you to wear a hat to help us raise awareness or make a donation.”
