Winners of IoF Insight in Fundraising Awards 2015 announced
The winners of the fourth annual Institute of Fundraising Insight in Fundraising Awards were announced on Wednesday at a gala dinner at The Underglobe in London.
Charities and their data specialist agency partners were present to pay tribute to the best in insight driven fundraising. Winning charities included Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cats Protection, RNIB, Sightsavers, and Wood Green The Animal Charity.
The IoF Insight in Fundraising Awards have been developed by the IoF Insight in Fundraising Special Interest Group to reward best practice, innovation and impact in harnessing data insight for great fundraising.
Rising Star Award
This year’s Rising Star Award was presented to Colin Thomas, Senior Individual Giving Officer at Cats Protection. The charity’s Director of Fundraising, Lewis Coghlin, said:
“Basing fundraising decisions on data and research is vital in raising more funds for causes like ours; the IoF Insight Awards are valuable in celebrating and promoting good practice and innovation in this area”.
He added:

“Cats Protection’s increasingly data-driven approach is enabling our income to grow rapidly and the part that Colin is playing in this success cannot be overstated. His shrewd analysis of business processes and implementation of improvements has transformed the efficiency of our fundraising and he has generated solutions for other teams, too, so I’m delighted that his achievements have been recognised by the Institute of Fundraising.”

Guests at the ceremony also heard the announcement of the shortlist for the IoF National Awards 2015 – Best Use of Insight.
The National Award celebrates and rewards the best examples of data insight in fundraising and the shortlist is made up of four award winners from the ‘core discipline’ categories of the Insight in Fundraising Awards.
