Charities trial Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT

Howard Lake | 19 May 2015 | News

Raiser’s Edge NXT™, Blackbaud’s new cloud-based fundraising and relationship management solution, will be released this Summer, but early adopter charities are already reporting on their experience with the new service.
When the product was announced in October 2014, Blackbaud promised customers “unprecedented innovation with dramatically reduced IT and third-party costs, hassle-free upkeep, complete data security, and the world’s largest not-for-profit support network”.
Building on Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge™, the new solution features prescriptive analytics, built-in payment processing and improved marketing outreach tools. It uses a new, role-based user interface which is “designed to match the way not-for-profits work”.

Mobile access

Early adopter fundraisers at Manchester Grammar School and Hope for Children have both commented on the value of mobile access to supporter data via Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Simon Jones, Director of Development for Manchester Grammar School, said:

“Now when meeting with major donors I can immediately access their records and let them know there and then how much they have given through various appeals”.

Chris Lyne, Marketing Manager at Hope for Children, added:

“Having it as a more mobile product will have a huge impact on our fundraisers and enable them to access records when they’re on the road, where previously they had to wait until they got back to the office after a long day out canvassing.”

Jones expects to make extensive use of the service in its programme of national and international events taking place in celebration of its 500th anniversary. He commented:

“Raiser’s Edge NXT is user-friendly, time-saving and will undoubtedly make it easier for us to plan our upcoming events”.

More users

He was also pleased that it comes with unlimited user licences. It meant that “we can open up the system to members of the team that wouldn’t previously have had access, such as our archivists.”

Usability

At Hope for Children, Lyne said that Raiser’s Edge NXT “provides a fantastically intuitive user experience”, and that “our team has really enjoyed using it”.
Jerome Moisan, Managing Director, Blackbaud Europe, said of the early adopter process:

“Seeing and hearing the reactions of our early adopters has been fantastic and confirms that we have made the right investments. We look forward to launching the product this summer and seeing our not-for-profit customers achieve much more through adopting this new cloud solution.”
