Blackbaud acquires MyCharity

Charity technology provider Blackbaud, Inc. has acquired MyCharity, the Irish online fundraising company that serves over 450 charities and more than 14,000 individual fundraisers.

MyCharity’s online fundraising platform offers direct donations, email marketing and individual fundraising pages, together with the ability to fundraise via Facebook and SMS.

MyCharity’s founder, Niall Devine, will remain with Blackbaud and will work on the integration of products. He said: “The new resources Blackbaud brings to MyCharity will help us bring innovative products and technologies to customers faster than was previously possible.”

Jerome Moisan, Blackbaud Europe’s managing director, explained the acqusition. He said: “The not-for-profit sector in Ireland is thriving, and we are confident that with our combined portfolio and expertise, we will be able to provide charities access to powerful solutions and bring immense value to them.”

He described the acquisition as part of “a key stage in our European development and growth.”
