UK Fundraising has published its latest blog, its first to focus on and support an event or conference. The Fundraising Ireland 2006 blog will feature contributions from some of the speakers taking part in the Dublin event, and encourage interaction with delegates and other interested parties.

The Fundraising Ireland 2006 conference will be held on 28 September 2006 at The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. Billed as a one-day conference for the fundraising community in Ireland, it has been put together by Back Page Books, run by Penny Stephens, former editorial director of Professional Fundraising magazine.

An opening plenary by Deirdre Garvey, chief executive of The Wheel, will offer an overview of the fundraising sector in Ireland. She will be followed by speakers including Mary O’Kennedy of O’Kennedy Consulting, Kieron Kent from Forward Emphasis International, Andrew Scadding of Pattaya Orphanage Trust, Damian O’Broin of Ask Direct, Howard Lake of UK Fundraising, Bryan Miller of Whitewater and Professor Adrian Sargeant of Bristol Business School.

UK Fundraising is media partner for the event, and is publishing the blog to help maximise the effect of the conference.

Speakers are likely to publish thoughts, ideas and challenges on the blog, and to encourage comments from readers. The blog will run throughout the conference and, it is expected, continue after it, offering delegates in particular a chance to share ideas gained from the event and ask follow-up questions from the speakers.

UK Fundraising’s blog network now comprises five blogs, including individuals’ blogs, multi-author blogs and now an event blog.
