Bowel Cancer UK has launched “Sit Down on It”, its major fundraising campaign of 2006, which offers ‘money-can’t-buy’ prizes in a SMS texting competition. The campaign as a whole, which includes nationwide fundraising events throughout April, aims to raise £2 million.

Prizes on offer in the competition include it Down on the Jonathan Ross Show, Sit Down in the House of Lords, Sit Down with Chelsea FC’s Peter Kenyon, Sit Down at West Ham Utd, and Sit Down with Emmerdale.

Every entry into the text competition will generate £1.50 for the charity.

Bowel Cancer UK’s Sit Down on It website includes content aimed at encouraging companies to get involved with the day. For example, the charity is hoping companies will invite their staff to donate £1 to sit down at their desks on Friday 7 April, or hold a ‘Sit Down Safari’ where colleagues donate to sit down at each other’s desks.
