BeCogent handles £45,000 in Sport Relief phone pledges

beCogent, one of the UK’s leading providers of outsourced contact centre services, has
taken over GBP 45,000 in pledges for this year’s Sport Relief fundraising initiative.

At two of the company’s contact centre sites in Airdrie and Erskine, the Managing Director, Chairman and management team helped agents man the phones to take over 1,300 pledges from the public, while 12 agents ran the Sport Relief Mile around the call centre grounds.

In addition, beCogent agents organised a number of amusing fundraising events such as’beat the goalie’, skittles and limbo, as well as a raffle. Two male employees had their chest and legs waxed – which alone raised over £200! All donations to Sport Relief go to help vulnerable people living tough lives in the UK and in the poorest countries of the world. When Sport Relief was last held in 2004 it raised £16 million and it aims to raise a record amount for 2006.
