The Phone Room Ltd., the Oxford-based telephone fundraising and marketing agency for the charity sector, has won one of the two top awards for European Call Centre of the Year at the European Call Centre Awards held at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.

Three hundred and fifty call centres across Europe competed for the Awards, run by Call Centre Focus magazine.

The Phone Room was the winner in the Best Call Centre Under 50 Seats category, competing against a field of commercial call-centres.

The team of judges, who included some of the most prominent names in the direct marketing and call-centre industries, said that The Phone Room employed, “…the most outstanding call-centre staff we have ever come across”.

David Dixon, Managing Director of The Phone Room, said, “Telephone fundraising agencies can only ever be as good as their calling agents and this award proves that we have the best in the business.”

The Phone Room has had a successful year. In January the company was awarded the Investors In People standard for the quality of its staff training and development and in August it secured a telephone pledge of £100,000 from an individual donor, possibly the highest pledge ever secured in a telephone fundraising campaign.
