How do you raise funds on the Internet? From anoraks of course. Shelter and First Direct are running an online fundraising appeal based on the amusing idea of getting rid of the Internet’s image as the home of computer-nerd ‘anoraks’. And what better solution than to take your anorak to a Shelter charity shop so that it can be used or sold to help Shelter’s work with the homeless? A First Direct spokesperson said of their Anorak Amnesty, “We believe the time has come to dispose of the ‘anoraks’ and at the same time support a good cause”.
