Sport Relief 2012 announces its technology partners

Howard Lake | 20 January 2012 | News

Comic Relief is to continue to benefit from a range of major technology providers who will be providing their services again for this year’s Sport Relief.
BT, Carrenza, Cisco, HP, Oracle, PayPal, VMware, and WorldPay all help the charity to collect millions of pounds donated through public donations, via the web and call centres, in just a few hours.
Carrenza will operate two platforms for Sport Relief – a donation platform built in Java that runs across two data centres, and a Drupal-based core websites platform with bespoke deployment procedures to help Drupal perform at the enterprise level.
Both platforms use VMware vSphere 4 for virtualisation and sit on HP ProLiant BL460 blade servers with HP 3PAR T-Class Storage Systems to provide agile and efficient storage. PayPal and WorldPay provide secure payment processing at the back.
Sport Relief 2012 takes place from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 March
