Guinness awards of €1 million on offer
Guinness in Ireland has launched the second year of their Arthur Guinness Fund programme which earlier this year made awards totaling €1 million to 10 social entrepreneurs.
The Fund was created with an initial investment of over €6 million to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of Guinness in Dublin.
Projects must be led by social entrepreneurs, benefit people over 18 years old, be based in Ireland (North and South), have a measurable impact and demonstrate how the Fund’s support will make an impact.
The programme is open to start-up organisations which will receive €50,000 over two years and established organisations which will receive €100,000 over two years.
All successful projects will receive technical and practical support as part of the award, and benefit from access to the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Alumni Network.
It is anticipated that 10 projects will be supported in 2011.
The closing date for online first stage applications is Wednesday 10 November 2010 at 5pm.
