NI Charity Commission to recruit eight staff

In a sign that the new Charity Commission for Northern Ireland is moving closer to full operation, the Commission has advertised eight new posts.
In April the Commission appointed a new chief executive, Frances McCandless, but the charity regulator experienced a set-back during the summer when a technical problem with the wording of the Charities Act was discovered. This issue caused a delay in the Charity Commission being able to begin registration of charities in Northern Ireland.
The eight new posts include a Head of Corporate Services and Compliance, Head of Charity Services, Legal Advisor, Enquiry Manager, Casework Manager, Casework Officer, Communication Officer and Finance and Administration Officer.
The posts have been advertised in the local press and on the Commission’s new website which also contains comprehensive information relating to charity regulation and management.
