A group of 25 Metropolitan Police officers chain together completed the London Marathon to raise around £50,000 for CLIC Sargent. The group were attempting to break the World Record for the ‘Most Linked Runners to Complete a Marathon’.

They were among 300 runners who successfully completed the Flora London Marathon raising an estimated £600,000 for the charity.

The police officers chose to support the charity because of the help and support CLIC Sargent has given to Inspector Geoff Wooloff’s 14-year-old son, Matthew Wooloff, who has been receiving treatment for leukaemia over the last year.

"It was a terrific event and we were amazed at the level of support we received from participants," said Tamara Downes, CLIC Sargent Running Events Manager. "We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who ran for CLIC Sargent, many of whom have spent months fundraising and training."
