Howard Lake | 2 November 2006 | News

New starters in the voluntary sector can take advantage of a new online course that will give them an overview of working for a charity. The course, Effective Voluntary Sector Management, is aimed at people who are looking to make a career move into the sector, or who have recently joined it. Volunteers and trustees can also benefit from this course.
The course will cover seven units:
– Introduction to the voluntary sector
– Marketing and communications
– Fundraising
– Employment
– Volunteering
– Financial management
– Governance
The online course has been launched by Working For A Charity, part of the UK Workforce Hub. It aims to build on the success of their existing Working for a Charity courses, which are classroom-based and held in London.
