Fundraising Standards Board membership passes 500
Over 500 charities and voluntary sector organisations have now registered with the Fundraising Standards Board.
Total membership now stands at 515, of which 499 are charities and 16 are supplier members. Of the charities, 90% are English, 7% are Scottish and 3% are Welsh. Together they represent about £2.35 billion, just over 25% of total charitable income.
The 500th member to register is the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in South West London. Adam Gallacher, RHN Donor Development Manager said: “It’s fantastic that the RHN is the 500th member of this scheme as it recognises our own codes of practice. Our residents have always known they can place their trust in us and this symbol now acknowledges that our supporters can have that same confidence.”

Jon Scourse, Chief Executive of the Fundraising Standards Board, added: “The RHN is a medium-sized charity and that is important because it illustrates that it is not just the large organisations joining and that the scheme is reflecting the sector as a whole.”
Indeed, just over 70% of members have a voluntary income of £1 million or below and just 5% one of more than £ 25 million.
The Fundraising Standards Board scheme is open to all fundraising organisations. Members agree to adhere to the highest standards in fundraising and commit to the Fundraising Promise and the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice.
