The Lords Committee on Charities will next week hear evidence from Google and Twitter on the importance of a digital presence in the sector.
The Lords Select Committee on Charities is assessing the sustainability of the charity sector, exploring the pressures and challenges they face, together with the roles of governments and public bodies in supporting them.
Representatives from the technology companies will give evidence on digital innovation in front of the Committee, which is chaired by Baroness Pitkeathley, on 29 November. The session will also cover other areas such as the role of the Big Lottery Fund and social investment.
There will be three 45-minute sessions.

4.00pm

The two senior staff members will be asked about issues including the benefits of digital engagement to volunteering, campaigning and fundraising, effective ways to engage, and how digital innovation can be improved across the sector.

4.45pm

The staff from the major grantmaker will be asked about issues such as the importance of the Big Lottery Fund, its criteria for support, and its relationship to other players in the field such as governments and other charities.
