According to Localgiving, since 2009:
- Over 5,500 charities and community groups have created a Localgiving page to raise donations
- More than 148,000 individuals have donated to a local charity or community group through the platform
- More than 3,800 fundraiser pages have been created to raise money for a local cause
- More than 19,000 monthly Direct Debit donations have been set up to provide long-term continuous support for local charities.
Marcelle Speller OBE, Localgiving founder, said:
“We are hugely proud to have reached this important milestone, which shows the positive impact our work has had on thousands of local causes and their beneficiaries.
“I launched Localgiving in 2009 with the vision of strengthening local communities across the UK by supporting grassroots groups to become financially independent and develop their core fundraising skills. Over the years I have seen first-hand both the amazing work that local charities do, as well as the difficulties they face in gaining the funds needed.”Advertisement
