Bookseller’s Waterstone’s have chosen Refuge as its charity of the year, following its support last year for the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.

Although the is no link or graphic to Refuge on Waterstone’s Web site’s front page, the charity of the year is one of the options in a drop-down navigation list.

Waterstone’s page on Refuge encourages a range of methods of giving. You can either give securely online via Waterstone’s catalogue system, or use print-off forms to make a credit card or cheque donation, or indeed a regular gift via Deed of Covenant.

There is a large amount of text on Refuge so Waterstone’s sensibly include the request for donations at the top and bottom of the page.

Unfortunately, the site does not appear to contain any reference to The Book of Peace, a collection of writing by authors and celebrities in aid of Refuge. The printed Christmas catalogue devotes a whole page to it.

Over the last two years Waterstone’s has raised over £250,000 for its selected charities.
