Snow Goose offers data integration from multiple fundraising platforms

Howard Lake | 1 September 2014 | News

Snow Goose is a new tool for fundraisers that use Salesforce, designed to allow them to import and aggregate the data they receive from online fundraising platforms.
Although fundraising platforms such as Virgin Money Giving, JustGiving, and CAF have always provided an export of all data, some charities have found it difficult to merge data with their own supporter data, especially when they receive them in different export formats with different field titles. Consequently, many fundraisers have found that it was very difficult to analyse and exploit the data for further fundraising.
Snow Goose has been developed to resolve this. It enables fundraisers to accept raw export files from fundraising platforms, and then to import them into their own Salesforce-based donor database. In the process it performs data manipulation to match, cleanse, and update records held. Data export files can be imported whenever the charity receives them. It imports data on donations, donors and fundraisers – those using the fundraising platforms for their fundraising event or challenge.
Part of the import process includes highlighting any exceptions, where records appear to match an existing supporter, and which the charity administrator can then choose to match or they can go on to create a new record for them.
Snow Goose already accepts file imports from JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving, BT MyDonate and Everyday Hero. Founder Stony Grunow told UK Fundraising that additional platforms are being added on request.
Snow Goose only works with Salesforce, so charities who do not use Salesforce will not be able to benefit from it. That said, some charities have kept their existing database and complemented it with Salesforce plus Snow Goose as the donation import database.
Any charity can use Salesforce: the Salesforce Foundation donates 10 licenses to charities.

Pricing

Snow Goose is available as a 30 day free trial. Thereafter, there is no recurring payment required, and once imported the data remains freely accessible.
Instead Snow Goose charges charities only for the actual processing and importing of their data on a per-donation basis, at a price per donation ranging from 20p to 5p, depending on the volume.
Charities can purchase Snow Goose directly, or from any one of the Salesforce consulting partners that are also Snow Goose resellers.
