Action Planning to acquire Sandcliff

Howard Lake | 31 January 2006 | News

Charity sector consultancy Action Planning is to acquire Sandcliff AB Ltd, the specialist fundraising consultancy to public sector bodies, to offer an integrated service to both voluntary and public sectors. The combined companies will trade as Action Planning.

Action Planning’s Principal, David Saint, explained the acquisition: “as consultants, we have tried to follow our own advice; identifying the areas of greatest opportunity for the sectors we serve and then creating new services to meet these needs.

“The combination of Action Planning and Sandcliff will be able to provide an integrated service to the full range of charities, voluntary organisations, educational institutions and public sector bodies, with excellent coverage across the UK. Our combined services will include strategic consultancy and business planning, fundraising consultancy and research for both capital and revenue requirements and HR support including recruitment and interim management.”

Sandcliff was established by Tony Baxter in 1994 and has a strong track record in planning and delivering both revenue and capital fundraising, supported by a nationwide consultancy team.

In recent years, the firm has also pioneered the development of fundraising programmes for public sector organisations, such as FE Colleges and NHS Trusts, many of which are now supplementing their statutory funding with donated funds.

We believe joining forces with Action Planning will deliver real competitive advantage for our clients explained Tony.

It gives us access to Action Planning’s research and marketing teams and enables us to pool our long experience of voluntary sector fundraising and management, giving our clients access to best advice across a range of disciplines.”

Action Planning will continue to work closely with ACEVO, Government and other key funders, holding major events, such as the launches of ‘Futurebuilders’ and ‘Compact Plus’ and the annual ‘Funding the Future’ conference, as well as an expanded range of training programmes and workshops.
