North West-based chartered accountants Mitchell Charlesworth has been awarded approved consultants status for its charity services by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

Mitchell Charlesworth, which has offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Warrington and Widnes, has a specialist charity team which acts for more than 50 charities and voluntary organisations across the country, including the Salvation Army Housing Association and Liverpool Cathedral.

Philip Griffiths, one of the partners who heads up Mitchell Charlesworth’s specialist charities team, said: We had to undergo a thorough application process to meet the stringent criteria, however, it was fairly straightforward for us because we already had systems in place which met the required standards.
