GlobalGiving UK runs Gateway Challenge again for small charities

Howard Lake | 30 January 2014 | News

GlobalGiving UK, “the only online fundraising tool that is wholly charitable” in the UK, is once again running its 36-day Gateway Challenge for smaller charities. The winning charities will gain membership of  its digital fundraising platform which charities have used to raise over £50 million since 2002.
Charities in the Gateway Challenge run an online fundraising campaign while building their skills and presence via GlobalGiving UK. Organisations that raise at least £2,000 from 50 donors will gain a permanent place and access to other donors, volunteers and skills in digital fundraising and communications on GlobalGiving.co.uk.

To take part charities must register and submit the necessary due diligence documentation by 28 February 2014.
They must then take part in three hours a week of online fundraising training in the period from 17 March to 11 April 2014. The Challenge itself runs from 14 April to 19 May 2014.
The top fundraiser during the challenge will be awarded up to £1,500 in addition to the funds they have raised.

Past winners in the Gateway Challenge

GlobalGiving UK work with over 350 small charities. More than 100 of them have joined through the Gateway Challenge, gaining skills and experience in digital fundraising as they raise funds for their work.
The last Gateway Challenge was the most successful yet with over £75,000 raised in a month for small charities in the UK and abroad.

“We thought the challenge was fantastic as it allowed us to raise a large amount of money in a short time, but  also it has raised our profile enormously and increased our supporter base beyond our hopes. We are looking forward very much to working with GlobalGiving in the future.”
