Businesswomen's charity seeks charity of the year

Howard Lake | 23 October 2005 | News

Sweet Charity, set up by a group of women working in business, the media and the arts, is inviting applications from small, low profile charities to be their beneficiary charity for 2006.

Announcing their initiative on Smartchange.org, Sweet Charity explained that, since 1999, it has raised over £130,000 for its selected charities. These have included Children with AIDS Charity, Refuge, The Theodora Trust Clown Doctors, Cancerkin, and Winston’s Wish.

Sweet Charity has two aims: to create a relaxed environment where women can meet and network, and to raise money for a different, small, low profile charity each year.
