Two Minute Silence online
For the first time, the Royal British Legion is making it possible for anyone with Internet access to observe the Two Minute Silence. They can do so either at 11a.m. on 11th November, or at a time of their choosing.
On 12 October, one month before the 80th anniversary of the end of the First World War, a special animated sequence with sound was added to the Legion’s Web site. Visitors can hear the bugle calls of the Last Post and Reveille marking the beginning and end of the Silence, mixed with a series of wartime images and associated personalities, poppies and, after the Silence, celebration.
As last year, the Royal British Legion are accepting secure online donations, and offering the incentive of a free poppy screensaver to all donors.
