Howard Lake | 29 October 1998 | News

At the Charities Annual Conference in London, AlertNet, the Internet service for international emergency relief, and Charities Aid Foundation launched a new initiative to make it easier for people to make donations to victims of disasters and other emergencies.

The service allows individuals to read the latest news from a disaster zone and react immediately by making a secure online, tax-efficient donation with CAF’s CharityCard. There are currently 19 AlertNet charities

that accept CharityCard gifts direct. You can also give to any other AlertNet charity not listed you will be asked to supply a few more details so that CAF can validate your gift. Credit card donations will be handled in the near future, probably early in 1999.
