Direct debit has been a convenient method of regular giving for some years now. It could soon get even easier, according to telemarketing company Pell & Bales. “Paperless direct debit should deliver at least a 20% improvement in your results,” said Karl Holweger, CEO at Pell & Bales. Paperless direct debit is significant because it means that for the first time telemarketers will be able to set up direct debits without having to send off a paper form to the donor so that s/he can fill it in and return it. The ability to set up a “customer-not-present” direct debit also has significant potential for charities using the Internet to fundraise.
