Easynet chooses Outward Bound as charity of the year
Business ISP and broadband provider Easynet has selected Outward Bound® as its charity of the year for 2004.
In choosing the charity Easynet has increased its level of support from being a Catalyst benefactor to a Patron’s Company member.
Easynet will be encouraging staff to take an active interest and involvement in the organisation. In April 2004, six Easynet staff will run the London Marathon for the charity, each pledging to raise £1000 in sponsorship for the organisation. Throughout the year, staff will be encouraged to develop fundraising ideas, and Easynet will be entering a team in the Trust’s Charity Challenge.

Easynet has also benefited from the partnership. Its staff have experienced the charity’s corporate leadership skills courses at its centres in some of the country’s most picturesque locations.
The Patron’s Company programme is Outward Bound’s bursary programme, benefiting schools and youth groups applying directly to the trust for funding. Benefactors’ staff can take an active role in supporting the charity by attending the trust’s courses and acting as mentors to those children involved. The Catalyst programme supports the Trust’s infrastructure in terms of enabling the purchase of kit and equipment, and contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of the centres.
