The NSPCC has increased its fundraising target for its Big Bike Ride by two and a half times. Last year the event, in which mums on bikes and tots on trikes are encouraged raise funds for the charity, raised £190,000. This year’s target is £450,000.
The increase is partly due to the addition of three big city bike rides in Newcastle (28 June), Sussex (20 July) and Cardiff (26 July).
The Big Bike Ride’s main focus is the weekend of 27-29 June.
The event is being supported by celebrities including England Rugby’s Matt Stevens, Gayle Porter and actress and singer, Michelle Gayle.
