Greenham Common Trust wins Queen's Award

Howard Lake | 23 April 2003 | News

The Greenham Common Trust has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development.

The award was conferred for the Trust’s work in regenerating the former Greenham Common airbase, Newbury, as a sustainable business park. New Greenham Park is the first commercial property development ever to have attained a Queen’s Award for sustainability.

Since its creation in 1997 the Trust has enabled the restoration of 750-acres of Greenham Common and has transformed 150-acres of the former airbase into a mixed-use business campus, that is now producing an income that is distributed to good causes and social projects through annual charitable awards.
