Bid4sport.com adds celeb and charity endorsements

Howard Lake | 22 August 2002 | News

Bid4sport.com, the online sports auction service that helps charities raise funds, has added endorsements from sports celebrities and satisfied charities.

Online sporting memorabilia auction Web site bid4sport.com is demonstrating its success to date with endorsements from a range of celebrities, charities and users. Founded by TV sports commentator Barry Venison, bid4sport.com has expanded from helping just one organisation, child amputee charity Peggy and Friends, to offering free online auctions to a wide range of charities.

It now features a special charity section, including details of successful auctions. For example, Fulham Football Club raised £272 for the Variet Club and the Geoff Smith Charity Fund raised £2,000 from just one sports shirt.
