New Media Age magazine is profiling the cashback shopping site for charities, Savivo.co.uk.
Savivo.co.uk is “the UK’s first and only shopping site where members earn cashback for their choice of charity every time they shop, at no extra cost.” The start-up, backed by Angel Investment with co-founder Microsoft, is profiled in Revolution magazine.
New Media Age comments: “The concept of giving to charities while using the Web is an attractive one. You only have to look at the HungerSite’s success to know that a significant ethically minded demographic exists online, especially when giving is an added value of the activity. The HungerSite’s appeal to many was obviously the fact that it didnt involve parting with any cash. However, Savivo’s success depends on the success of its online shop and its ability to draw consumers from portals they already trust.”
