Applications open for 4th year of Stronger Voices programme
Media Trust, in partnership with Equally Ours, is bringing back its Stronger Voices programme for its fourth year this October.
Stronger Voices is a free, six-month strategic communications capacity-building programme for London-based equality organisations.
Applications are open to take part in this year’s programme with a deadline of 16 September.

Funded by City Bridge Trust, the programme covers many elements of strategic communications, from communications strategy and planning to key messaging and storytelling, and from pitching to journalists and media interview training to social media optimisation strategies and mentoring on using Google ad grants.
It will run from October 2021 to March 2022, with the plan being to deliver it through a mix of face-to-face and online learning.
To be eligible, organisations must meet the following criteria:
- supports beneficiaries from one or more of the nine protected characteristics detailed in the Equality Act (2010)
- is working in one of the 32 London boroughs
- can provide at least three years of financial records
- is a small to medium sized registered charity with a turnover of £2 million or less.
Priority will be given to:
- Organisations that can demonstrate they are user-led (i.e., a majority of their board and senior executive team come from the communities they serve)
- Organisations that work across multiple equality strands (more than one of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act)
- Organisations that can demonstrate a strong policy/advocacy focus in their work
