TikTok sets users #CreativityForGood challenge
TikTok launched #CreativityForGood last month: a challenge inviting users of the platform to create a TikTok style campaign or ad for a non-profit.
Launched in the spirit of the Cannes Lions advertising awards – which doesn’t include a category relevant for TikTok – #CreativityForGood participants can choose between one of four partnering non-profits, or pick another cause they are passionate about. They are then asked to post their campaign or ad on TikTok using that hashtag.
The goal of the challenge, it said, was ”to showcase artistry, expressiveness and individuality – much like Cannes Lions does each year – while allowing the TikTok community to participate and highlight their unique vision for giving back.”

The four charities picked by TikTok were Malala Fund, It Gets Better Project, IFRC, and One Tree Planted. TikTok has also donated to each of the four.
So far, the hashtag has had over 500 million views. Some of the videos can be seen on the Creativity For Good microsite, which also includes more information on how to take part.
