European Fundraising Association announces Gosse Bosma as president

The European Fundraising Association (EFA) has appointed Gosse Bosma, the director of Goede Doelen Nederland, as its new president, following its Annual General Assembly in Bratislava this month.
Bosma takes over from Günther Lutschinger, CEO at Fundraising Verband Austria who is stepping down from the EFA board following the completion of a six-year term, during which time he has led the organisation for the past four years.
As president, Bosma will lead the EFA in its mission to strengthen and develop the fundraising sector and profession across Europe. One of the core priorities for the EFA’s work programme in 2017 is to further develop its Certification programme, which facilitates the development of internationally-recognised fundraising qualifications. The scheme was first launched in 2007 and since then, over 4,400 fundraisers across Europe have achieved an EFA Certified qualification.
Bosma said:

“Europe is not made by politicians alone. We as civil society leaders have a key role to play and I feel passionately about helping fundraising organisations achieve that and share their knowledge and expertise across national borders.
“Most importantly, I want to thank Günther for all that he has achieved in recent years. EFA has become increasingly important to the international fundraising environment and I am honoured to take on the presidency.”
