Islamic Relief launches Friday Five campaign
Islamic Relief UK has launched a pilot campaign aimed at encouraging businesses to donate 5% of their Friday earnings to help the charity’s overseas projects.
Friday Five supports Islamic Relief’s Alternative Orphans Sponsorship Programme, which aims to provide business set-up grants to support female-headed households, ensuring long-term food, shelter and education for the children and family.
Fatima Ribeiro, Islamic Relief UK’s corporate partnership officer, said:
“There are so many businesses throughout the UK who are thinking about their corporate social responsibility and how they can give back to the community. Friday Five is very simple. It gives businesses the opportunity to choose whether they want to give their revenues to Islamic Relief every Friday of the year or on a one-off Friday, perhaps to celebrate a birthday or something special.”
Businesses that would like to sign up to Friday Five are asked to contact Fatima Ribeiro on 0207 593 3228 or 07872 407203, or on Fa************@is************.uk“>Fa************@is************.uk.
